| These instructions will guide you through setting up Windows XP dial-up networking to connect to your account. Ensure you close all applications before starting. Please have a copy of the original Windows XP installation software handy as it may be required by Windows during the setup process. |

From the Windows XP desktop, click on the Start button in the bottom left hand corner. |

From the Start menu, click on the Control Panel icon. |
| 3. |
In the Control Panel window, choose Phone and Modem Options. |

Select the Modems tab.
- If your modem is listed then go back to the Control Panel and select Network and Internet Connections as Windows has detected your modem.
- If you modem is not listed click on the Add button to start the "Add New Hardware Wizard.

At the end of this process you should see that your modem has been successfully detected, if not then consult your modem manual or manufacturer. |

From the Start menu, click on the "Control Panel" icon. |

Select "Network and Internet Connections". |

Click the "Set up or change your Internet connection" icon. |

Click the "Setup" button.

The "New Connection Wizard" window will appear. To continue, click "Next".

In the "Network Connection Type" window select "Connect to the Internet" and click "Next".

In the "Getting Ready" window, choose "Set up my connection manually" and click "Next".  |

In the "Internet Connection" window, choose "Connect using a dial-up modem" and click "Next".

In the "Connection Name" window, fill in "Visual Link Internet" for the ISP name.

In the "Phone Number to Dial" window, type "6789179" in the the phone number box.

In the "Internet Account Information" window, fill in your user name in the user name box, and your password in the password and confirm password boxes. Make sure all 3 check boxes have checks in them.

After finishing the "New Connection Wizard", check the "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" and click "Finish".
