We are moving our office and support telephone lines over to VOIP this month as this allows us to offer local calling numbers for our customers in WV as well as in Virginia. Please make a note of the new numbers. They are active now and we will be completely switching to our new VOIP numbers by the end of the month.

Wireless Broadband Internet Prices

Unfortunately, we need to increase Wireless Broadband Internet prices. Starting November 2007, all new customers will sign up at the new rates. Current wireless broadband customers will keep the same monthly rate for the duration of their contracts. At the end of their contracts the new rates will become effective. Visual Link strives to bring the best service and prices in the region. This price increase is necessary due to increasing costs of operating the wireless broadband network. There will be an increase of $10.00 per month for all wireless broadband Internet services. Even with this necessary price increase our Wireless broadband prices are still below Satellite and other broadband options in the region.

Light Up the Tower Night

One of the most commonly asked questions by our customers is whether or not they are within our Wireless Broadband coverage area. In order to help answer this question we will be lighting up our towers on the mountain ridges on Wednesday night of next week October 17th. Basically, if you can see our towers, you can get our wireless broadband service. If you see the towers light up after dark, you know you are in our wireless broadband coverage area. But don't feel left out - even if you do not see the towers on the mountains, we have other access points throughout Clarke and Frederick counties and the City of Winchester. So on Wednesday night look out at the mountains to the east and west for our lighted towers. We will be using white lights from the ground illuminating the towers. If you do see the towers, please send us an email just to let us know. This information will help us to determine how many of our customers are in direct coverage and give us more information in the areas we need to improve. If you can see one of our towers, this of course means you can upgrade your service to Wireless Broadband. Raining on Wednesday? Our rain date is Friday night, October 19th.

New Web and Email Accelerator.

We will soon be changing over to Propel Accelerator. Propel is currently the leader in Internet accelerator products. Our tests with this new accelerator have shown a dramatic increase in speed, both for websites and email. Their software also includes a pop-up blocker as well. We will be changing over to Propel this month and will be offering all of our customers the ability to try this new service for free during the first 2 weeks of the change over. If you like it, then it will only be an additional $2.00 per month. Propel also has clients for both MAC and Windows which includes support for Windows from 98 to Vista as well. We hope you will test the Propel accelerator software and let us know your reviews.
