Visual Link Enhanced E-Mail Setup for Windows Mail

STEP 1:  Fill in the following information here on this web page in the boxes below and click the button after you fill out the information.

Type your name as you would like it to appear in
the From field of your outgoing messages:


Example: Jane Doe

Type your full email address including the
@visuallink.com part:


Example: pretty@visuallink.com

 

(Save the resulting download to a location where you can find it later.)


STEP 2: Tell G-mail to enable Windows Mail to retrieve messages:

  1. Log in to your mail account at http://webmail.visuallink.com

  2. Agree to the license agreement if presented with one.

  3. Click Settings at the top of any mail page.

  4. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP in the orange Mail Settings box.

  5. Select Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.

  6. Choose the action you'd like your messages to take after they are accessed with POP. We suggest the option to “archive Visual Link Internet Enhanced Mail's copy”.

  7. Click Save Changes. Once the changes are saved it may take 10 minutes to an hour for the changes to take effect.

Did you click 'Save Changes' after enabling POP in your mail account? To ensure that your account can communicate with your mail client, be sure to click 'Save Changes' on the 'Mail Settings' page.


STEP 3: To configure your Windows Mail client:

  1. Enable POP in your mail account (see the Step 2 above)
  2. Open Outlook Express.

  3. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'

  4. If you currently have your Visual Link account(s) set up using our old mail system you will want to select and then remove them utilizing the remove button to the right.

  5. Click Import...

  6. Browse to the location where you saved the file in Step 1 at the very beginning of these instructions, click on the configuration file you downloaded.

  7. Click Open.  You should see your email address show up on the account list.

  8. Close the Internet Accounts window

  9. Click Send/Receive to start checking your Visual Link email messages. (You will need to provide your full email address and password the first time, but it will save for future use.)

Congratulations! Once you have completed all three steps you are done configuring Windows Mail.
