Instructions for switching from Visual Link Mail provided by Google to Visual Link Classic mail:

(You may want to click File then Print and print a copy of this page to aid you as you make the necessary changes)

1: Because your email is being concurrently delivered to both Google and Visual Link Classic mail you will probably want to clear out your mailbox on the classic system. To do this you can either log in to Classic Webmail at http://classicwebmail.visuallink.com and use select all and delete to empty your inbox (Tip: By default webmail only shows 40 messages per page, you can change this setting under Personal Settings) or you can phone us at 540-754-1566 and we can clear the mailbox for you.

2: Retrieve your mail one last time with the Google settings in place.

3: In your mail program you will need to change the following settings:

Incoming (POP) mail server: mail.visuallink.com
Username/Account name: <your username> (Just the first part on your email address which comes before the @ symbol)
Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: smtp.visuallink.com

Turn off authentication for outgoing mail.
Turn off SSL/Encryption/Secure connection for both outgoing and incoming mail

Change the port numbers for incoming and outgoing mail:

Incoming mail server port: 110
Outgoing mail server port: 25

If you are using Outlook Express or Windows Vista Mail you can find these settings by going to Tools then Accounts, selecting your Visual Link mail account from the list, then clicking properties. The server names are located on the servers tab as well as the checkbox for "My server requires authentication". You can locate the "My Server requires a secure connection" checkboxes as well as the port number boxes on the advanced tab. Click OK and then Close.

If you are using Mozilla Thunderbird you can find these settings by going to Tools then Account Settings. Select the Server Settings item immediately below your account in the list on the left hand side. You will need to change the (Incoming) Server Name, Port and Username, then change the Use Secure Connection option to Never. Once you have made the changes to the incoming server you will need to scroll to the bottom of the list on the left and choose Outgoing server. Remove all of the outgoing servers EXCEPT the one marked (Default), then click the Edit Button. Change the settings for Server Name, and Port. Uncheck Use name and password, and set Use secure connection to never. Click OK all the way out.
